Dashield-Malone House
Map #15

Dating to the second quarter of the 19th century this attractive cottage is also among the oldest in the village. The
story-and-a half front block has an exterior brick chimney and late Federal/ Greek Revival woodwork. In 1877 it belonged to H.H. Dashiell and was later purchased by Levi Malone. For many years Ashland Malone made his home here. He was an outstanding pioneer electrician, plumber and general handyman, who was well-known throughout the area. He is credited with installing electricity and plumbing in most the houses in the community during his lifetime.
