a. By maintaining an archive for documents pertaining to
local families and institutions, including genealogical
records, family histories, letters, diaries, church records,
etc..
b. By publishing a newsletter, The Allen Historian, at least
two times per year and distributing it not only to the
membership, but also to all libraries and organizations with
a historical or genealogical focus in the three lower counties
of the Eastern Shore, which once made up Old Somerset
County.
c. By supporting publication of books of local, historical
and cultural interest.
d. By sponsoring lectures, workshops and other public
events of an educational nature.
e. By placing historical markers at significant sites within
the village and the surrounding area.
f. By maintaining an exhibit space with examples of local
material culture, as well as photographs and documents
in the Society's headquarters, "Passerdyke Cottage".
